What I do and What I am

My most important job outside of photography is the role of "mommy". Of course this takes up most of my time and that is the way I like it. He is my gift from God and the hardest thing that I have had to fight for in my life. Having this child was not the easy. It took years of fertility, a miscarriage and lots of praying. My husband was always scared to have to do the things he had to do in order for us to have this little boy. He was reluctant to have another child because our youngest was 15 years old. But because he loved me so.. he found the strength to do all the things needed for us to expand our family. We won't go into the particulars, but he had to go through just as much as I did...just not the fertility drugs!!!! He does not like to talk about it but, the thing is "We" as a couple know how lucky we are to have such a great little boy and he has brought us closer and stronger in our relationship with each other. We are very blessed.

Trying out My new XTI

These are just random pics I took at the park when I first got my Canon Rebel XTi. I have no clue on how to work this camera. Life has been crazy so understanding my new toy has not been priority for me. I just look forward to learning more and more everyday. OoH and I finally got some new actions the other day. The B&W conversion is one of the new actions. I forget what it is called. Jamoca something. I will blog again with my new actions and give her the credit she deserves. Forgive me I am not good with names.

Talk about old

This is my husbands 88 Nissan Sentra. It is his work car. There are 242,000 miles on this rust bucket. I tease him all the time that he will be buried in it. Instead of a coffin it will be this car. He just laughs. It has been wrecked and has a cracked windshield. I won't even start about the inside of this thing. And do the kids give him a hard time about it. He has a truck and a Ford Expedition...not to mention I have a Nissan Altima. But he tells me "It doesn't cost me anything for gas and it only needs oil so I might as well keep driving it to work. He definitely does not care what others think about him and his "Silver Bullet" he calls it. Well its ugly but I could not imagine this car not being in our driveway or seeing someone else drive the poor thing. The day this car drives its last mile will be a sad day for the Janosa family.

Great Grandmother

This is my great-grandmothers powder case. She told me when I was little that her grandmother gave it to her. To look into this mirror and think of the generations before me is just so mind blowing. I wonder what their lives were like. The hardships they faced because of how woman were treated back then. Then I look into this mirror and think of how truly blessed I am. Life is so different from 100 years ago but in some ways the same. Woman will always carry burdens that men will never understand and we will always be stronger for it. I wonder if my great grandmother ever thought that I would still have this powder case and how much it means to me. Even more did she ever know how she shaped my life and made me stronger knowing her the way I did. To me the sun rose and set in her . She was my best friend and my biggest fan. I do miss her so. She has been gone since March of 1992 but not a day goes by that I don't think of her. The "E" on the case is for Eula. That was her name, but to me it was "Mamaw"

More Easter Pics

Here is the scoop. The mom of these little girls came to get her pictures today. As I was showing her the pictures she actually began to cry! She was saying " Ooh look at my babies." Now I was proud of myself for the hard work I had done considering the way my life has been lately, but my goodness I did not expect that. I almost started crying. This woman is not a crying type of person and the fact that these pictures moved her to tears is kinda freaking me out. In a way I feel that I don't deserve to feel so good about the accomplishment, because I have so much to learn, and I am sure that anyone of you could probably give me a list a mile long on what I did not do right or what I could have done better. But I guess in the end I did what I set out to do and that was to make her happy and to want to come back and let me take more pictures of her family.
I must tell everyone that Joanne gave me some great advise and pointers about how to defog, sharpen and how to use a sponge tool to saturate the colors. If she had not shared this with me they would not look the way they do. She didn't have to tell me squat!!! But being a great friend first and a great photographer second she shared what took her forever to look up and research, and didn't give it a second thought when I asked her for advise. Everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like her. So THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Clients Easter Pics

Ok guys, I'm not on subject today, but the mom of these girls almost cried when she seen these pics. Just because her girls are tomboys and ran around with dirty feet and did not want their pictures taken. She was so scared that they would not turn out. But I managed to get some good shots. I just wanted to share and to see what everyone thought. I have not posted in a long while because my hubby has been very sick for past month and in the hospital. I don't have time too look up all my info on the pictures I just wanted to let everyone see what I have been trying to work on when I'm not being a nurse at home and at work. I still check out everyone's work on our POTD and it looks great. Well I'm off to go and get ready for work. Have a great day!

My Two Beauty Must

I can not live without my Root Boost. My hair looks flatter than a pancake without it. One bottle will last me for at least 3 months. Thank goodness for that its about $10.00 and I'm a penny pincher. The lotion... need I say more. I know I'm not the only one who feels like a potato sack in the winter. This is the bottle I take to work. That's why my name is on it. If my name is not on it the bottle will grow legs and walk off.. if you know what I mean. This is what makes my life much easier.

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

I know this pic is kinda yellow. But I did not have a lot of time to get technical today. I would die without my coffee maker. I can't always afford to get Starbucks so this will have to do. My hubby and I plan on our days off to wake up and drink coffee, read our bibles before our son gets up for the day. It our couple time that we have to have when we can.
